can text messages be accessed by someone who you didnt send it to.

theoretically yes. a phone text message is not much different to an e-mail. consider what happens when u r off line the message is stored by the phone company and sent on to u when u come on line again so it could be accessed by someone in the phone company though it is unlikely !

yes but can another person do something to my phone so that my messages divert to their phone too?

I used to work for Vodafone... I know that you can divert calls but haven't heard of diverting text messages.
