Hi lil75
I too have the same problem sometimes.
Are you a fast eater? I am and have been told that I should chew each mouthful of food at least 20 times. Do you eat dinner quite late in the evening? Taking a quick walk before bed helps too. Activa yogurt is nice and according to the tv adverts. is another suggestion.

yeah try a pro-biotic (like activa as deanna says) and also like her I would say chew slowly. One way to do it is to make sure you put your fork down back onto the palte between each mouthful.
i am exactly the same...my stomach is flat in morn...if i eat a little say 2 small meals in the day i will notice i am bloated usually toward end of day,,,i cannot understand it at all....doctors only tell me to eat less and introduce more fibre ..blah blah blah they dont have a clue....i eat in typical day..breakfast...cup coffee and banana,
lunch...brown bread samwhich with salad,,
dinner...bowl of all bran or bran flakes witjh skimmed milk...............
how am i fat? how can i not go to the toilet everyday like normal people? why am i bloated even after a samwhich ? its very frustating.....good luck to you ...u are not alone......oh by the way i think activia is a complee waste of money.......
You are probably slightly intolerant of wheat. This can cause bloating in many people. Avoid bread and just have ryvita for lunch, or oat cakes, and make sure you have dinner with veg and protein. Don't eat after 8pm and do make sure you chew properly and take your time. You could try doing the Carol Vorderman detox diet for a couple of weeks and see if that helps. Also make sure you are not adding salt to food, or eating processed food, as this can make you retain water and appear bloated.
Luckyman- are you kidding?
That doesn't sound like a well-balanced diet at all!!!
Luckyman- I agree, your diet is not good. Where are the fruit, veggies, protein and carbs? Sounds like you have messed with your metabolism and now your body is in starvation mode, making it very hard to lose weight.
Previously I had been on the bio yoghurts but I am really anti those horrible things now. Infact I cut out milk and dairy products completely and that alone solved my problem of bloatedness. I think for people who suffer with such swelling the manufacterers of those drinks are making a killing to those naive. Put it this way Lactose intollorence is as common as wheat intollorence, so keep on the yoghurts that say they stop this but they are more likely to be the cause of it.

I also didn't use to eat all day until around 6pm but now I try to eat something (even if it's just a biscuit) ever 3-4 hours to keep my metabolism going and I don't eat for 3 hours before going to sleep. Which has been of enormous benefit.

Hi

I would cut out gluten, wheat and dairy for a month and see if you notice any difference.

You can buy special pasta and dairy free milk in nearly all shops now. Sainsburys, Tesco and Asda have a good selection.

It might not be all 3 your intolerant to so you can start to re-introduce them back to you diet. Its just really experimenting to see whats causing the bloating.

I'm not to sure if you can get intolerance testing through your doctor but health food shops can give you advice on these sort of things.

Maybe the fact that you don't eat much of anything all day is a contributary factor. As someonr else said...you may swallow a lot of air as and when you do eat. I have also cut out bread...and have found that it does make a difference. ....but boy-do I miss bread sometimes!!
