how do I loosen the handle on my back door it is double glazed pvc but when you lift the handle up to lock it it si so hard to lift that it hurts your hand

It's not the handle usually - it's what the handle moves. If you look to the side of the door when it's opened you can see the latches that the handle moves up and down to lock. You need to grease them regularly to keep them in good order. You might also like to put a healthy dab of vaseline in the coupler the latch sits into. When you grease the latches move the handle up and down a lot to make sure that the grease works through the mechanism.

Whickerman's dead right........... also, the latches are adjustable.........they may need lining up again.

Thanks for that but i only had them fitted last summer how do I alter the latches, if thats what i need to do the front door is ok its just the back
