Its worth him keepng a food drink diary for 3 weeks, writing in everything he eats and drinks, INCLUDING alcohol and snacks/sweets. If he also makes a note of ebbing and flowing of the quantiity of spots , and dates of flare ups, ou may notice a trend linking it to something. If so, he can start trying to cut that item out for a few weeks and see if the spots improve.

Hi Ronnie,
There is blue light therapy, have you looked into it?

I don't know of the effects of drying on the skin with these lamps? but when acne is distressing and nothing is working... then try all avenues?
Regards.

sounds boring, but change your diet, a healthy diet loads of fruit and veg and water can help acne,
worked for my sister, she had terrible acne, its not an overnight solution, but she chaned her diet and within weeks it started to clear up!
worth a go, google it and get some ideas on what fruit and veg it especially good for the skin
xx

Mr Jules used to suffer too, the doctors gave him Oxytetracycline (sp?) which sometimes helped, but he obviously couldn't stay on them for ever. He was also advised to use an anti-bacterial wash called Hibiscrub which can be bought from most chemists, this did seem to help. I know it doesn't really help to say this, but it should get better with age. If it is really bad, he could ask the drs to be put on Roaccutane which is a medication for severe acne.
