Can some one give me some advice please, my strange husband wants to sell the house, take his money and go, regardless the fact this house has been my home for 30 years, but I am too upset about it as I want to move on aswell.
I am still married to him not divorced yet, someone has advised me that I should apply for a legal saperation now so that he does not claim half of my aswell or have any rights over my half and includeing any thing from my kids.
We have hated each other for the past 20 years I know why I stayed but I do not know why he stayed. He has abused me for the last 25 years. This is long story my question is if the house goes for sale which it will, once I have move out I want to apply for a divorce what problems can occur?? Can any advise me.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You must go to a family solicitor. You will get 15 mins of free advice then you can decide whether or not to continue with that solicitor. Failing that, go to the CAB. This is too big to cope with on your own and too big for any amateur on this site to deal with. If the house is in both names, I don't believe he can sell it without your signature but please get propert legal advice. I know it will cost (unless you are on benefits) but there is too much at stake here. Good luck
