One of my mates used to work at a builders and didn't fancy coming in so he rang up to say that he couldn't find his trousers as it was foggy last night and he had left the window open!

He didn't work there for much longer afterwards.

Someone who used to work for me used the excuse that his grandma had died. Was going ok for him until he used it for the 3rd time.

He should have said that his grandad had remarried.

He wasn't that clever. He still didn't click when I asked him how me managed to have 3 grandma's (he was unmarried and 18 at the time).
