This gets me sooo angry
5 Answers
I'm calling a goverment helpline with 0845 number which is a local cal rate I think. The line connects to say in an automated voice 'Thank you for calling bla bla bla then 2 minutes later "We are sorry we are unable to take your call at the moment due to high volume please call back later" and the line goes dead.
I am being charged for this, surely.. but why should I keep being charged for calls that arn't answered??

I've complained to ofcom.. which makes me feel better.
They should be 0800 free numbers especially for Child Benefit which is what I'm calling.
They should employ the intervention service which says "Sorry the lines are busy, you have not been charged for this call".
I can't believe I'm being charged to be hung up on from the government.
Those are the worst though: that put you on hold, charge you for it and then hang up.. I've experienced that too.
