tried the plums from the garden, they are really sweet:) i think they probably all ready to eat, do i need pick they all up all leave them on the tree and pick up whenever i want to eat?

Oh lucky you, but why not post this question in gardening.There will be more postings for you.

Pick the plums as they soften. Try not to leave the soft ripe plums on the tree as if it rains they quickly mould and rot the other plums.

we have got an apple tree and pear tree as well, apples are really big now, but very green and sour, do i need wait any longer to pick up them?

Your apples might be "cooking apples" such as a bramley which tend to be large green & sour. An acquired taste to eat raw but probably the finest of the cookers, so get the recipe book out & be prepared for a treat

By the way Bramleys are ok for storing and if this is done properly they will last until March-April. While one rotten apple won't spoil the barrel check for damaged ones and use these now. The apples should be seperated ,we used to use straw, but old newspaper does just as well and packed in boxes and stored somewhere cool & dry (but not where it is liable to freeze). As I said if stored properly apples should keep for several months & after a while stored Bramleys seem to loose some of their sourness which makes them more palatable as an eating apple.

thanks paddywak, i will pick all plums up today, leave apples to weekend for my bf to do, they are too high for me. erm, i will find some place to keep them and see if i can use them for apple pie :)
