tried the plums from the garden, they are really sweet:) i think they probably all ready to eat, do i need pick they all up all leave them on the tree and pick up whenever i want to eat?

While one rotten apple won't spoil the barrel check for damaged ones and use these now. The apples should be seperated ,we used to use straw, but old newspaper does just as well and packed in boxes and stored somewhere cool & dry (but not where it is liable to freeze). As I said if stored properly apples should keep for several months & after a while stored Bramleys seem to loose some of their sourness which makes them more palatable as an eating apple.
