I have a huge old Sony TV which has tuning problems. It works fine through the scart...but I don't have digital TV. There's no large TV aerial on the property so having to make do with a small TV-top aerial. It tunes occassionally but will frequently lose its tuning for no reason.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem...

...cable TV, freeview and installing a large exterior aerial are not possible.

Any ideas?!

What about an aerial in the loft space? Or, you could use a piece of wire rising up the wall in the corner of a room, then fit it snug to the coving or the like, to make an almost invisible internal aerial. There are also booster boxes that can be bought, but I've never found them to be all that good.
If the signal is OK, but you feel the tunig has failed, many video recorders have TV tuners. You ocuold pick up an old (or new) vide, and watch through the vide channel. You would have to use two remotes though.
