I was thinking maybe he was just reflecting the general smuttiness of british humor at the time? I dunno. Don't see much like 'Carry On' nowadays.

-gem- where did u get the pervert from re Benny. Is that the biggest word you learnt and are trying to show off?
"The Goon Show" A radio program on BBC in the '50's (on the wireless). That's where Peter Sellers got his start...more or less.
All these old comedy shows were much better than some of the rubbish shows today. Some can't say two words without usung foul lauguage. Take Charlotte Church for example she is such a talented singer and good comedy but she needs her mouth washing out with soap.

Clever Comic....they don't have very many good comics nowadays....not the old school style anyway....I loved Tommy Cooper, he didn't even have to say anything, he just made me giggle :o))
