70s? horror film

i remember seeing a film in the early seventies about girl who brought a tribal doll back from africa and it came alive and attacked her with a spear it was holding. no matter what she did to try and dispose of it the doll kept after her. it frightened the hell out of me at the time!  does anyone know what this film is or did i imagine it?

I think the film was called Trilogy of Terror starring Karen Black.It was three different tales of horror all featuring Ms Black.

I have terryfing memories of that film too, I was petrified. I remember it kept biting her ankles and hiding under the sofa and bed, I also think her mother came to the apartment too? I have a friend from south aftrica, she told me there is a small doll like demon called a tokalosh and that native south africans put their beds on bricks so it cant creep out in the night and kill them
