click and everything closing

hi i am running windows xp and about a cple of weeks ago, when i click on an email to move it to the delete box it moves a cple of emails. Also when have my browser open, all of a suddent it shutting downm any ideas pls.

Brower closing down sounds like a virus....

It's certainly worth scanning for spyware BUT can I ask, is it when you visit certain sites it shuts down or is it fairly random?

If it's the same sites, try reinstalling your browser.

hi and ty, i should have said when i click on say one email to move it to the next box for deletion, it often moves 2 emails.

Withe regard to the browsers, doesnt happen straight away, but again i click somewhere else and poof it closes my programme down.

Could it be my mouse

i am running a very good antivirus programme called avast. someone mentioned spyware y would i need this and where can i get a freee one please. Many thanks for your help
