Dorothy in the Outback?

I remember watching an Australian film when I was young (though have seen it since on TV a few times) about a little girl called Dorothy who runs away and turns into a cartoon character. She is then befriended by a kangaroo, the kangaroo is not cartoon and she meets a platypus and lots of other animals, and you see the baby Joey being born. Random I know, but anyone else remember it? Oooh, also think it may have a link with Willo the Wisp?

Possibly "Dot and the Kangaroo" or one of it's many sequels ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0274470/combined ).

My children and I loved this programme. Even today I will sing 'the crocodile song'. to them (they are 24 and 21) and they laugh at the memory.
