Walking carpet!

I have carpet in the kitchen (I like my comfort). I put a raffia type mat on top of it but the mat 'walks' to one side. Any suggestions how I can make the mat stay in one place. I have tried double sided tape, but that doesn't work. I can't nail it to the floor as I have solid floors.

I hope someone can help me, please

Many thanks

B & Q do a special non slip sheet that goes underneath your carpet. We've had to buy several for our rugs and they mainly work (I only have to rearrange the rugs about once a month instead of several times a day!) Can't remember what it's called; probably something like 'carpet grip'. To save money, a bought ones smaller than the rugs, cut them in half and placed a piece under each end of the rug.
