Central locking gremlins
My daughter accidentally locked her toddler in her car. Well, she didn't do it herself; the doors locked themselves when she closed the back door, having put the child in her seat. Unfortunately, the keys were on the front seat! Luckily, I was only 3 miles away and a frantic call from her sent me rushing to the scene with the spare keys. I found my daughter, dancing in the road and pulling funny faces to keep her daughter amused! The really strange thing is the same thing happened to my car - this time without child! - whilst parked in the same spot. Could this be some sort of radio signal problem in the vicinity? We both drive a Toyota.

Certain cars have different systems in place some automatically lock after a period of time as the the car assumes if the keys are not in the ignition you have forgotten to lock it so it does it for you. My 206 locks if i dont open the door within a few minutes of operating the remote..Leaving keys on seats and in boots etc. is a recipe for disaster..

the favourite mistake is laying the keys in the boot while unloading and then shutting the tailgate/boot...doh!
One of the first things i do when wqorking on a car is to lower the passenger window so if anything does go wrong at least you can still get into it, even connecting up a battery can operate c/locking, caught many a mechanic out
