right i cannot go into much detail, but.
I know a young women who is going to college and through no fault of her own has found she is struggling to pay for everything.
Her accommodation is paid for through a bursary, but this does not stretch to equipment.
Does anyone here know how she can get financial help?

Part time pole/lap dancer? 'look but don't touch'... better than Legs suggestion... just...
Leg would you suggest that your daughter
went on the game ....you are a sad case ...
A second survey in 2006 showed that number had again climbed to six per cent and with a third study currently underway, more than eight per cent of the current student population is expected to be participating in sex work.

FIREWATC HOW AM I IDIOTIC IF IN FACT THE TIMES SAYS THAT 8% OF STUDENTS ACTUALLY DO THIS IN THE UK ?

IS IT PERHAPS A CASE OF PEOPLE EITHER NOT KNOWING THIS OR NOT WANTING TO KNOW?
EITHER WAY YOU CAN DISLIKE THE IDEA BUT YOU CAN ALSO BE SURE THAT ITS GOING ON AT A UNIVERSITY NEAR YOU.

BTW MY ANSWERS ON THIS THREAD HAVE BEEN SENSIBLE AND HAVENT BEEN INFLAMMATORY ,
THEY HAVE HOWEVER BEEN FACTUAL AND NOT EMOTIVE .

AND TO BE HONEST WAITING UNTIL A WEEK BEFORE REALLY IS VERY UNORGANISED ISNT IT ?
I didnt suggest , i said its an option.

And do you think that if anyone heres daughter was doing that theyd actually know ?

You really outta wake up , this is the 21st century and prostitution or erotic dancing for money has been going on for centuries before this.

And the figure says 8% of students .

Digest that figure and then reconsider your inflammatory and uninformed answers.

Suggest that she talks to the college's student support office or admissions tutors. Colleges often have hardship and other funds for people in just her kind of situation. At the very least, they may be able to put her in touch with a charitable trust that may be able to help.
if its a longish course (say a year or more) then it probably wont matter she dosent have ALL the equipment on the first day. Thus she will have time to get a job to pay for the things she needs (whether it's in a shop or the other good ideas that people have put forward in this post)

She may find that now is not the right time in her life to do this course, and she will have to either postpone or not do it altogether if that is not an option

Look the s$%t only hit the fan last week when she lost contact with family, so you can see the sort notice issue.
She is a sensible person who I honestly cannot see doing that sort of job.
Don't you dare shout at me when i am only trying to help this person.
I do not where the college is so i will suggest she get an evening job, but doubt she will take the idea well because it is a long day study then work on top. I did this and it broke me, literally.
oh well i shall have to see...
