i have dark brown hair. I had some full head, all over highlights ONE week ago (at salon) and although it's not totally awful i just don't think it's "me".

can i buy some over the counter temporary hair colour (say level 1 or level 2) and colour it myself at home or will the highlights affect the colour uptake?

thanks in advance

It will probably affect the colour. At the hairdressers they have to neutralise the original colour before putting another colour on. I would talk to your hairdressers to see if there is anything they can do.
