mobile phone won't charge

There is a light on the charger which is new and appears to function. Could this mean it is a new battery I need??

I have had a similar problem in the past and found that some models do not work with generic chargers. My newer Nokia wouldn't charge but my husband's old Nokia did. Try someone who has the same phone and see if it works then. If you don't know anyone with the same phone, take it to a phone shop and ask them to test it on a phone.

Thanks Jess, it could be that; I don't know anyone with a charger but will go into town today.
