rocky my 8 week old kitten
Hello everyone
i was just wondering if anyone out there could help me. as some of you know we have recently acquired (or maybe its the other way round) a little kitten after the loss of our dear old cat Tinker.
anyway the problem is when he sits next to me on the sofa he will insist in nuzzling into my arm and sucking my skin. he leaves it a bit bruised but not sore. when he is doing all this his little eyes are closed and he is purring for England.
does he think I am his mum, do you think I should just let him do this. I am not sure what to do. we are off to the vet tomorrow for the first injection and a second lot of worming.
i will mention it to the vet but just wondered if anyone else out there has ever had this problem and if so how do you deal with it.
thank you in advance luv Jan x

I think it is because they came to me at eight weeks and left their mum too early. (they were rescue kitties) Don't worry too much it is just a comfort thing.
My cat Bandit still does this and she is coming up to 16! It is a comfort thing, Bandit treads at the same time and takes great pleasure in really digging her claws in as deep as she can to my skin, she always manages to somehow find the thinnest part of my clothing to ensure maximum pain on my part!!
As her loyal slave of couse I just have to put up with it!
Cheers Sue

Thanks to everyone for your help and advice. The vet just laughed at me when I told him and said "hes only a baby" and do you know what, its actually quite nice and makes a very pleasant change from him tearing up and down the hallway and jumping at our ankles and attacking our legs.
by the way yesterday he discovered the stairs, and wow thats a whole new world now for a little person.
best wishes to all Jan x
