i took out car insurance 6 days ago and now realise that it isnt suitable is there a cooling off period and can i cancel it

you will be entitled to 14 days cooling off period providing that you have not made a claim within that period.
You will get a refund minus the days that you have been insured so 6 days.

than you so much for taking the time to reply that has certainly made me feel a lot better as i was beginning to think i would lose all the deposit and may be rven more.
