Forgotten to turn of GHD's

hi all,
i've been a real idiot and think I've forgotten to turn off my GHD hair straighteners. i work in london, 25 miles away from home and have spent the whole train journey here, worrying about what will happen if they're still on. they're the old style (i think mk3). the new ones have a special feature that turns them off after 15mins, but what about the older style? has anyone ever done this? my parents are away and i dont know my neighbour's number, so i cant get anyone to pop in and check. is it likely that the fuse will blow or something? i'm not very technically minded!

I've lost count of the number of times I've had to go back home to check, so now I have to take a photo, with my phone, of the empty plug socket after I've used them so can reassure myself throughout the day :o(

ha! the car boot and photo thing... i could see myself doing that if this carries on! after all that, they were off the whole time. i now make a point of pulling them out at the plug and taking a mental 'photo'. maybe i should just not use them and go 'au naturel'. i doubt that somewhat! thanks for all the advice guys.

Cheers for that idea pterodactyl. I'll need to tell my sister that one as she's always phoning me and asking could I check she's turned her straighteners off.

Hi Jem_Bob,

I once read of the same problem and someone else who used them every morning said that she took a picture of the on her mobile phone EVERY morning when she turned them OFF so that she wouln't spend the day wondering if she did or not.

I think it's a pretty good idea.

Reading this thread has made me feel so much better about myself! lol I too torture myself after going out after using my GHD's too as to whether I've switched them off or not.
The photo is a good idea but I now call one of my daughters (whoever's nearest) to witness me switching them off and unplugging them so I can then ask them on a regular basis over the following hour that I definately switched them off (didn't I)??

God I send myself insane sometimes!
