Ideally leave the bitch to have another season, and at least 12 months before she is mated again.
Probably not what you want to hear, but if you don't know then I really don't think you should be breeding.
At least 1 year.....and I suggest dont breed unless you have waiting homes for the pups.
Could not agree more with the last two answers ... if you want to breed, join the Breed Association, get proper advice and do it responsibly. BUT - I have friends who are breeders who have quite suddenly this last couple of months found themselves in serious financial difficulties & with pups needing homes due to the impact of the "Credit Crunch". People are suddenly not looking for pets right now. Think about it - if established breeders can't shift puppies, will you be able to ?
Sensible advice - and another point to think about, many breeders are finding that people do not want breeds like Boxers, Rotties, Dobes etc with tails, because they look different to what people expect them to look like, despite what the RSPCA and other organisations will tell you, so many breeders are having trouble selling undocked puppies.

Are you actually thinking of breeding?

Is this the 2 year old dog that you have just bought?

Has she had any health tests for the breed?
