Hi there, im just writing this on behalf of my dad, he has recently been diagnosed with motor neuron disease. and is currently working 12 hour shifts at work. we were wondering if he could get early retirement on grounds of ill health and what benifits he can claim. and wether he can start his pensions.

It really depends what his the rules of his pension scheme are. How old is he, how long has he worked there?
He thus needs to ask his employer about the specific pension scheme. He cannot get his state pension early - only other benefits to tide him over - the same as others who become unable to work.
