return of freezer and compensation
Hello. I purchased a fridge freezer from Comet which broke after 24 hours and ruined all the freezer and fridge contents I had just purchased for a abank holiday weekend. I received a replacement eventually (despite them trying to palm me off with a repair) but had to pay an extra �120 as they didnt have a similar one and also do without a fridge for a week. I was asked to keep food wrappers to claim for compensation and an itemised list which the driver would remove. The driver removed the packaging yet told me the office would contact me for the itemised list which totalled �89. I now have been told they are sending me a cheque for �37 only as I did not give them a list of food and they only pay out for freezer food only and not the food that was wasted in the fridge.
I have explained that I have not been asked for a list and the fact that the �89 was actually an underestimation but they are not budging. Is there anything I can do to obtain the extra money and if not, can I ask Comet to remove the new fridge and obtain a refund because I am unhappy with their service which has been a farce from start to finish? I am within their 28 day return cut of period. Regards
