Does anyone else find it difficult to buy approprate greetings cards. I had trouble today to find a birthday card suitable for a male friend who doesn't drink etc, all the cards had beer glasses champagne bottles etc or boring ones with remote cottages and boats! Also sympathy cards always have the most inappropriate verses! I suppose it would be better to buy blank ones and make up my own verse!
You forgot the obligatory golfing and fishing ones too.
The only problem with blank cards too is that you have to send many boring hours trawling the net looking at equally unsuitable verses. Frankly I'd rather get one with a naff verse and have back those precious few hours to do other things with.
Lol at cottages & boats, so true Mary! Reading your question reminded me, last week my daughter had a card made up special for her boyfriend from moonpig.com. She had pics of him & her on the front & you could have your own verse printed in it! I'm sure she only paid about a fiver! xxx
Why is it mens cards are so boring!! It's like they've only been given a second cursory thought! Wonder what men think of cards anyway? Are thet really bothered? May be not!
i bought a card years ago with a crying/laughing baby on the front and inside it said something like "henry loved that joke" or something along those lines.
anyhoo, i would love to find it again and i have searched the tinternet far and wide looking for it!!
my point being............... it would of been an ideal card for a person of ltd interest!!
i got it for my 14 yr old niece!.... i couldnt find one with cider, 10 benson and a packet of johnies on the front.
If you have any photos of the recipient, or photos which he/she will like, transfer them to your computer and then print them onto card. Most folk like to receive a personalised card and it is so easy to do.
I bought a document off eBay which had hundreds of verses ready to print onto inserts and put into your home-made cards.
I make and sell greetings cards and mens cards are quite a difficult area. I do make cards with the usual beer etc on, but also make a range of a slightly risque nature - they are quite popular as men say this is what they really want on their cards, but it's not always appropriate for some people to send these sort of cards. I now tailor make my cards for friends and relatives with their interests or some standing joke etc - I think the cards you see in the shops are the reason I do well with mine as I offer something different.
