sad story about baby..

Did anyone read the sun today and see the story about the couple or mistreated their baby so bad that they ended up killing him? As a mother this story really got to me, as i can't understand how anyone could harm a baby or child. These people will probably only serve a few years in prison if that!!
Why isn't there any real protection for babies and children out there?

Hi Beck,

I didn't see that story, but I agree with you. A while back, someone put up a You Tube link about a wee girl that was mistreated by her mum and stepfather. I think it was her father or her Grandmother from her father's side that made the movie. It broke my heart, I was blubbing for ages after watching it, welling up now thinking about it actually.

My nephew is only 2 1/2 months old and the thought that anyone could hurt him....well.

Yes its disgusting what these people are capable of..
what can i baby possibly do that makes you do things like this? At least the poor little baby is in a safe place now and isnt in pain anymore..

Yeah i just seen that on the sun website.. thats what makes it even more disturbing about this child cruelty- it happens so much its as if people think thats the only reason babies and children are here!

I read the story this morning beck - and it really upset me to think how that poor little mite must've been terrified and in agony. The parents should be burnt alive.

as a worker in children services we see cases everyday of severe neglect and abuse often we dont hear about it until it is very severe. The public are so often afraid to report concerns which leaves children in abusive situations. Too often we dont have enough resources to follow up all referrals and by the time we get to them the abuse is often more severe. All young people should be mandated to do parenting courses in school to give them the skills to deal with children and a better understanding of parenthood and childhood development. I mean you have to have a licence to have a dog but anyone can have a child/ren. Often when children are removed from abusive parents the parents attempt to replace the children by having even moer
