We are a group of 6 tenants of 6 self contained flats who have formed a residents committee after the death of the former chairman. At present the remaining 5 tenants are to pay 25 per month for maintenance and 150 approx. for repair of the forecourt. The solicitor acting for the estate of the deceased tenant isn't inclined to make any payments. Is there anything we can do to get them to provide their one sixth share.

Thanks

why dont you just wait till the place is sold and ask the new people? or if it isnrt to be sold but goes to a family member, chase them
Why should the dead person pay for maintenance? Jeez, have you checked his teeth for gold fillings as well?
The short answer to that is 'because the liability comes with ownership of the flat'. It is irrespective of whether the person is ill, doesn't go out, on holiday for the winter in Spain, or indeed, dead.
send an invoice to the "estate".
It may take a while for the payment so you may have to pay the share from the rest of funds whilst waiting payment from the executor.

I thought you'd turned over a new leaf and were done with all of that abusive nonsense, Tetjam.
