Seriously..Why can I drink 6 pints of Beer but not Water?
Hijacked this post earlier in a friendly way.http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Science/Question95094.html
And as the title suggests why can you drink say 6 pints of beer, yet say 6 pints of water over the same time appears impossible. Is this all in the mind or is there a real answer?...To be honest if I was given 2 pints of water it would take an age to drink?

Assuming you are not in a race you'll probably take at least 90 mins, you know just drinking at a steady pace, probably visit the loo in between, probably more than once. If you tried the same with water over the same time you'd prbably not be far off. Of course there is a diuretic effect with alcohol, ie you expel more that you drink so that may make some room but I think this is probably an illusion. It's just more fun to drink the beer and hence not so noticable.
