Damp proofing a floor.

I have a floor in an outhouse that is made of concrete. If I wanted to lay a sheet of decent lino type stuff on it to make it more homely, what would I have to do to the floor to ensure that the damp did not rise up & collect underneath the lino?

Is it literally as easy as painting the concrete with damp proof stuff & that's it? or do I have to do anything else?

It is essential to use the best product and prepare thoroughly. Thoroughly clean the floor and finish with an air blower to remove dust, and do the same for the walls up to the Damp Proof course. Apply an RIW product called LAC - see this link

ensuring that it connects to the DPC and under door thresholds. Let it harden, cover with hardboard and then lay your lino. Provide a skirting to the wall upstand fixed above your waterproof upstand.
