4 Answers
Hello Iam 42years of age. Im getting ready for a kindney trasplant. I have been reading many different things about the surgery and what can happen afterwards, my doctors also have told me different things. It would be wonderful if someone here can tell me how their life has been from the transplant, How many times they had to go and get a transplant, what have been the side effects, weight gain, hair loss etc. please help and let me be more aware. Im on dyalisis right now is it better to just get the transplant or stay on dyalisis as long as possible? Thank you

He's finding it very difficult to find a match because he is of such unusual mixed parentage. I think he would be ecstatic to be in your position! It must be incredibly scary. At one stage, I thought I was going to need a heart transplant because I have cardiomyopathy. I was terrified! Thankfully, my condition has got a lot better, although there's no guarantee that will continue. I wish you all the best. Please let us know how it goes.
Good luck nkostyuk with your kidney transplant - my friend's uncle has been diagnosed with cancer of both kidneys last week so will be getting them removed and then put on dialysis. Hopefully maybe down the line he will be lucky and get a kidney.
I do know of a husband and wife (who were a match) one give a kidney to the other in July past and they are doing terrifically.
again good luck to you
