I stopped in line of traffic when ready to move off (with no indication) car would not start. all the lights on the dashboard came on and F started to flash What is wrong? Could not get the car restarted and had to be pushed to the side of the road

Your car is an auto and you were ready to go. If CAR would not start, (i.e. move), then did you have the selector in "D" or whatevber it is ? If ENGINE would not start then it sounds like the selector was not in "P", (Park). Unless selector is in P you cannot start an automatic.

With info to hand that's all I can suggest.

Your handbook should tell you wahat the flashing F means.
common problem with the corsa is that the multi-plug behind the dash needs a whack now and again (dont ask !!i have the same issue with mine now and again!!) just give the instrument panel a slight wack at the top and it should be ok. works with mine anyway!!
