brand new teddies to charity

Hello I need some advice on charity donations.

I got addicted (is the only word for it) to those teddy bear crane machines at the seaside well I do live in devon/cornwall.

As a result I have built up a huge collection which literally went straight into a binlinner in the cubboard everytime I won one.

I have not really wanted to keep these for a year or two now as I rent my property and they take up room. They would probably be worth money if I could sell them I put them on ebay once but they only got fraudulent people from abroad interested.... what doesn't on ebay these days.

I have about 200 all new all with labels most winne the pooh with disney labels, some giant winne the pooh 3 foot high. All excellant condition, all in binliners. Due to the time in the binliner I would guess half of them the older ones might need to be laundered.

So has any one got any ideas where I could sell these and if I was to give up on the money myself potenially around �400 I have been told, and give these to charity I would like to see the actual toy make it to a child in need somewhere, not be sold in this country for pennies to go towards the needy after expenses have been covered. What charities would give the toy to the child???

I had a couple of binliners full of teddies a few years ago that I gave to a friend of mine who is a midwife, she took them to the hospital for the children's ward. Maybe you could ask if your local hospital would like some or all of them???

I gave a load of soft toys to Sense ..
they still had the labels on them ..so
give them a try ....

daffy654 that is a brilliant idea but I don't like to be a prophet of doom but things seem to have changed in a few years.
I remember recently an organisation trying to donate toys locally to the hospital to be told that for health and safety reasons they couldn't accept them ...MRSA, norovirus, etc.

Why not take them to a local kiddies hospice? they are always so thankful for gifts of any sort as they are always struggling for money, and you would know that the teddies would bring some happines to a kiddie that won't be here for much longer.

I think some of them wont take them because of dust etc on the toys from being sitting around
id check first .

Yes this was my concern with sick children, that they will say no for health and saftey. Now you have given me some ideas I will check with them to see what they say.
