MM Links Solutions September 2008 [Week 2]

This second week in the reign of King Wickedtongue went perfectly, although it did not bring in the bonus points in the huge numbers that I was expecting. My apologies for misleading the Shrubbery Squad. Following a theme of Wicked Weather, I can now reveal the chosen links were:

Rain FOREST
Thunder BIRD
Flood LIGHT
Storm TROOPER

By way of explanation, a Storm **** is another name for the Missel Thrush (presumably only applied to the male of the said species).

Football continues to be a taboo subject in the croft! I shall have a glass or two this evening to drown my sorrows!

I was very pleasantly surprised to receive the first predictions from roslyn251254 with an early Christmas present! She came crashing through the RAIN FOREST like a STORM TROOPER to claim FOUR POINTS. This was to be the best performance of the Round, so without any more ado I name her as HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!

The next seven entrants drew blanks and it took ulysses100 with FLOOD LIGHT (at 09.02) to resume the scoring process. Immediately after came Grenmus just beating the clock to score another Two Points with Rain Forest. Also beating the clock was seekeerz with another Flood Light. Not so fortunate were the slightly late entries coming from x-ray, cliffyg, Judith & Dustybun who each picked up One Point. At 10.12, Entrant # 27 (kettledrum) claimed the last scalp with THUNDER BIRD!

Only miss meg & joto made it to the scoreboard in what was a rather quiet week.

I was rubbish and so was Jim. Thanks for your efforts though crofter and wickedtongue. Not sure if I'll be able to play next week as I' going to be some where around the Chedder Gorge for the weekend. Depends if I can get online.

well done roslynn I scored zero again, have already opened a bottle to cheer me up was a screw top bottle so did not need a cork screw, not sure I know how to put the screw top back on though!! ;-(((((((((

Wow!! Points! Because of the rather idiosyncratic way I play this game - (entirely my own fault!) - they don't come my way very often, so they are specially welcome when I manage to light on the link(s) that everyone else has missed.
