I think Derek Harrison sugests that next weeks jumbo 4000 is a collaboration from 4 setters. Expect it will be a killer whoever the culprit(s)

Perhaps I've missed something, but I cannot quite see the point of this puzzle.

I don't think you have, Scorpius.

I felt that it was rather flat. The message seems pretty garbled, but I hit the theme, such as it is, very early on. I am loth to criticise compilers since they give me so much pleasure,but I don't think that Mr. Lemon made too much of an effort with this one.

Agreed, alas. The penny took a while to drop (my fault) but it rattled a lot on the way down; and I wonder if anyone else wants to "club 18 and 30"??

Agreed on 18 / 30 Castro. Also agree with just about everything else above .. not too much enjoyment solving it, slightly naff tenuous theme - yet I guess it was quite good fun for Mr Lemon to construct as, looking back, there are some satisfying word transformations
Next week will be a very different kettle of fish I suspect

I thought it was a nice little puzzle. Took a long time for the penny to drop - not least because I still can't altogether make sense of the instruction, although the implication is clear enough. Sorry that you lot found it so boring
