same e mail address!!!!
I have just been sent an e mail from someone using the same email as me if that makes any sense!!
Is this possible?? I thought each address was totally individual!!

You can put any valid email address in these fields, and it won't in any way affect the functioning of your e-mail client. However any e-mails that you send will (superficially) appear to come from the address that you entered, and if anyone tries to reply or bounce your e-mails, the result will be sent to the return address you've supplied.
So, as Ethel says, the fact that an e-mail appears to come from a particular address - even your own address - doesn't mean a thing.

the email address and name at "from" field can be fabricated. they can make it look like you've got mail from pentagon just to attract your attention and make you open the malicious email. don't worry, nobody uses the same email address like you. but if you opened the spam message, run an anti-spyware. spam often comes with "bonuses" like trojans and keyloggers and similar stuff.
