compact flash reader wont reinstall

cant get my compact flash reader to reinstall after having to reformat the hard disk onthe computer (windows ME) windows wont seem to recognise it at all. any ideas how to solve this. Everything was alright before the blue screen of death made me have to reformat the whole thing.

You don't mention which reader you use, there are a number of "card" readers that are not supported by WinME and Micros"haft" recommend an upgrade to XP. Your choice if you wish to use Gates software..... but then I maybe wrong. Look at the manufacturers site to see if there are any drivers for WinME........ It should be listed in the information handbook you got with the card reader.

thanks for the idea ....but it was working up to last week and then the computer went heywire and I had to reformat the hd. The reader is maxell ......Im going to visit their site . Thanks again
