Part time work from home
I have a full time job but I could do with earning some extra money and thought about trying to get some work as a secretary or similar where I could work from home. Just doing typing for someone really but getting paid a bit for it.
Does anyone how I would go about doing this - how I would get the work in and how I would arrange payment etc. Would I have to be registered or anything. I know nothing so any ideas, advice, help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

There might be students who have a long thesis or dissertation which needs typing although these days where virtually every student is computer & keyboard literate, the opportunities might be fewer. Also contact local employment agencies in case they know of opportunities for you and put a card in your local newsagents. Also advertise in your local paper. I'm not sure what the going rate for home typing is.
If you charge by the hour, you will need to show your name and address on the invoice plus a description of the work done i.e. To typing xyz at 5 per hour - 4 hours. 20. Show your terms of payment. i.e. All invoices to be settled within 14 days days. Give your bank account No & sort code in case individuals want to pay by BACS direct into your bank account. Consider whether you o set up a separate bank account for these freelance earnings. It will make it easier to account for them, and don't forget to put aside money for tax. You will also need to advise the Inland Revenue (or Customs & Revenue, whatever they call themselves now). Having an additional job may mean that in future they send you a Self Assessment Tax form to complete every year in which you will need to account for all your income from all sources.
Alternatively some telephone selling companies might be prepared to employ individuals to do telesales from home. Try googling 'telesales from home' or similar and see if this throws up anything.
