school dinner chocolate sponge and choc custard

does anybody have the old school dinner recipe for chocolate sponge and chocolate custard did anybody love it as much as i did ? thanks

At my school we had wellington fudge and just chocolate sponge they was both my favs but with the pink custard not chocolate or yellow. Have made the fudge one and it was nice but not as nice hope someone does have the recipe so i can have a go too. mmmmm yum lol

yum school dinners brings back memories dont have a recipie but i can remember savory mince with triangles of fried bread on the top

I have an easy recipe for "chocolate crunch" which they seem to serve quite often at school dinners and the kids love it:
Melt 4oz margarine in a saucepan, add 1tsp vanilla essence.
Mix 8oz Self Raising Flour, 4oz sugar and 1 oz cocoa powder in a bowl and then stir in the melted marg with 1 beaten egg.
Press into a greased swiss roll tin (or similar). Brush top with water and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at gas 3-4 (sorry don't know equvalent for electric) for 30 minutes. Cut into squares while still warm
I usually buy an instant chocolate custard packet mix to have with this (from Morrisons) but you can use a chocolate blancmange as custard or even make your own with cornflour, cocoa powder, milk and sugar.

Have just made that chocolate crunch and it was lovely my kids loved it too. It didn't take long to do either.
