I watched the whole three hours (which I never do, if they can't do it in half the time, forget it) but I thought it was very watchable. However towards the end, and with the two teachers in the classroom it started to get a bit silly and when they got to the end, well I was livid! What a waste of time, I wish I hadn't watched any of it. Are there any ITV blogs where I can vent my anger ?? I feel ITV were laughing at us when they showed us the ending.

I agree. I thought the ending was rubbish. Total disappointment. So it was the dad's new girlfriend that did it? As for that horrid little girl - she just annoyed me.
3 hours of my life wasted, I intend to sue.
Similar comments in the TV section as well. A good ploy to get good viewing figures - what total rubbish the ending was.
I was sent a preview DVD for this programme a few months back and then had to complete a questionnaire on my thoughts of it.

I basically thought that the ending was crap because you never actually found out who did it! I meant to watch it last night to see if they had changed the ending but from your comments I am assuming that they didn't?

Correct Cheeky Chops. How do you get the preview DVD? I would love to do that.
I am registered with one of those Survey type sites. I have been a member for a while now but The Children was the only DVD I have had (so far!) to preview. Mind you they did pay me 5 for watching it and giving my opinion.

I get an email every so many days then have to answer a couple of Q's about what I've watched on TV.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I've won vouchers in the monthly draw a couple of times as well. Not a fortune but it all adds up!
So it was the dads new girlfriend was it? I'd been watching it then popped upstairs and missed it, the my hubby tells me the mother did it so he must have got confused
Question Author
No, wigglebum (love the name) we are all confused because nobody knows whodunnit. They gave various scenarios at the end with the little girl on the swing and various members of the families coming around the back of the house and possibly killing her but at the end it was up to the viewer to make their mind up. Complete waste of time, shame on you ITV.
Was it not up to much then?
I thought her father had done it? That's why the girlfriend was crying, because of her own daughter?
Question Author
It was good most of the way through until the last half hour, and as I say, we still don't know whodunnit. Don't watch another ITV three part play, I say. Let's all boycott them.
Well that's saved me 3 hours!

Bit of advice, always record things like this so you can watch - or not - all in one go.

Thanks to what I have read here all 3 episodes are going straight to delete.
I was soo mad, I kept looking to see if there was another episode! However they gave you all the scenarios of who it could be but then at the very end, they showed Tasha crying hysterically and she wasn't one of the supposed endings so I assumed it to be her??? But who knows - what a stupid bl**y ending. Glad to hear we weren't the only ones to find it annoying.
It was definitely the father's girlfriend, that's why she was seen sobbing and apologising for killing the child
