I believe the electric circuit i have in mind is called a Series Circuit. Its basically a square starting with the CELL round and down to a DIODE, down and across to a RESISTOR, before this resistor linking the bottom line with the top line is a VARIABLE RESISTOR. it continues from the resistor round and up to a LAMP then up and across back to the CELL. Hope this helps!

Yes, since all the components are connected in series, like the beads on a necklace, it is a series circuit.
