her daughteer in law has fell from a balcony
and died as a result
they only flew out there on
saturday x

so tragic
has any one heard anything on the news

has spoke to a rwelitive of hers and apparently she said to him that she was mugged and killed
she is only 22
he cant be lying as he mentioned boyfreinds name and were they live
she was the relitives niece
and also has two children at home as well

Good morning chicho, well I've just had a quick look at the paper today and there's still no mention of anything, except a young 20 yr old man who died in the street in San Antonio from overdosing on E, so I guess they are not releasing anything. I'll keep looking. Any news your end of the poor husband?

Oh dear have found it, she was Carla N (they do not give out surnames) 22yrs, she fell whist trying to climb from her friends apartment to get to her where her husband (they say boyfriend) was. She didn't die in the fall, but died afterwards, at 3.30 am. It was not caused by drink or drugs just a bad decision to climb the balcony. This is the bones of it, How very sad. If I can do anything else let me know.

No, probably Phillip won't have been arrested as he wasn't in the same room at the time, but he'll have to answer questions I should imagine. They were doing tests on the body to see if drink or drugs were involved but the police think she was clean. The body will have to be enbalmed for travel and that's not something they do here normally. It's very strange for Carla to have done this, but I do know people who have done it and gotten away with it safely. Although we do have muggings they are never fatal over here, it's a comparatively safe island. Believe me, had she been unlawfully killed the whole island would have shut down until they had the killer. The Police here are very thorough and strict about that. Please give the mother-in-law my deepest sympathies, and if I can help her in any way then I'll be glad to. You, too take care, it was a sad and tragic accident.

It does say in the paper that he was hysterical but that's only to be expected.

chicho; I am so glad that Phillip is back home again, I've seen this before and sometimes the bereaved has been left on their own in their room until a suitable flight was arranged. Thank heavens his company (18-30's?) got him out. My deepest sympathies go to all his family in their grief. x

just seen the column in the daily paper about your friends daughter carla newman, her mum is angry that the people on the isle with carla had not been asked for statements, and that people were saying she was a silly tourist!!!

Have just found the article. I know the mother is very upset, but why wasn't the fiance with Carla that night, surely he must know why she was using the balcony and not the door. The "rumours" seem to be coming from England and not here. Believe me, the Police will not cover anything up. The witness was obviously someone completely independant and so more believable.
