growing a miniture rose indoors

Hey all you peeps - i've not been on 4 a while. hope ur all keeping good?

I've been given a miniture rose in a tiny pot. It is quite beautiful, pale creamy white. As it was a gift to mark a sentimental occasion I would like to try grow it indoors but my record with houseplants isn't great.

I plan to re-pot it (cos the pot seems really small) but would like some advice on
what sorta soil it would need,
where shall I place it indoors regarding light / temp etc. Should I feed it it with plant food?
How often should I water it?

I'm sure someone on AB will know...

pot it in bigger pot using ordinary potting compost .keep it in good light but not in to warm place or all the leaves will drop. i would put it outside next spring either in much larger pot or in the ground. i did it with one i had it was fine.
just keep it moist more houseplants are killed by over watering than underwatering GOOD LUCK

I`ve one of these bought 3 or 4 years ago. I keep it outdoors, repotted it once (7" pot) & keep in a sheltered, north facing spot, so never sees the sun. I water it with rainwater & have only given it a feed once. Blooming lovely every year! Last rose, last week!

I 'rescued' one in August from Morrisons priced down to 45p. I immediately repotted it in a larger pot in standard compost and it has flourished and still producing lots of beautiful creamy yellow with red tinged blooms. It is standing on my garden table in a south facing position and I will more than likely leave it out over winter and just pop in inside if the temperature really drops drastically. I will eventually pot it in a larger pot and leave it outside. I have another one that I have had for over 30 years and it is still going well.

I've re-potted my rose today and holding thumbs now...(ps I bought a "Multi-purpose" potting soil as this is what you all suggested. it does contain peat though so i hope this is okay).

I have only recently (ie this last spring / summer "discovered" my joy of gardening...still lots to learn cos previously the only plants I kept were artificial!!
