Set up two monitors
5 Answers
Can anyone tell me how I can set up two monitors on my computer. I have plugged in my 17 inch flat screen with the white cable and have also plugged in my crt 15inch with the blue cable but only the flat screen works. When I unplug the flat screen monitor my other comes on. I assume I have to do something with my settings but have no idea what. Any help is greatly appreciated.

To achieve the latter you will need a "Dual head" video adaptor
Also, what operating system are you using?.

'Video Adapter' and 'Video Card' are the same thing, people just use different words.
Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your video card. You can get them from here: http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/winxp/radeonwdm-xp.ht ml?type=xp&prodType=graphic&prod=productsXPdrive r&submit.x=16&submit.y=9&submit=GO%21
Once these are installed, if the image on the second monitor does not display automatically, you'll have to go into the "Display Properties". Right click on your desktop, then click "Properties". Click on the "Settings" tab. If you poke around there for a while you should be able to see how to turn on dual monitor support. I cannot be specifc here as a I have an nVidia card. Sorry about that. You "may" see a greyed-out image of a second monitor in the "Settings" area. If so, right click on the monitor and click "Attach".
