I'm having my bathroom redone and someone at work said I should have a silent flush toilet put in. Anyone ever heard of this. Tried to find one on the internet but no luck.

I think that you will find that all the Swedish toilet systems are silent or at least extremely quiet.
P.S. Swedish toilets are also offered with different seating heights, excellent for the infirm but also the higher ones are so comfortable that they tempt one to linger, especially if there is a "library" in the toilet area!!

silent fill, that may be it. many thanks
Over the years replacing cisterns, I`ve been given the choice of two plastic inlet nozzles which fit into the ball **** valve. One is large bore, & t`other small bore. Which one fits depends on wether the cistern is mains pressure fed or tank fed. The choice will affect noise &/or speed of filling. Also, adjusting the aim of the inlet nozzle can affect the noise greatly.
Oh dear, AB didn`t like ballc*ck. Some years back people living in Scunthorpe had a similar problem with their town being censored!
The generic name for this silent fill valve is a torbeck valve.
It looks like this.

I don't believe that it has any link to Sweden - it just sounds Swedish. It's just the type of valve that requires to be specified - it can be fitted into virtually every manufacturer of toilet cistern ever devised.
