Almost all churches of all religions won't allow marriages when one partner has been married before. I'm afraid you might be looking at an alternative venue. But don't worry, there are some beautiful places that are licenced for weddings, some of which are far nicer than churches! :) It doesn't have to be a hotel or a registry office these days, you can have it at an old castle etc. Try googling 'civil ceremony locations' in your area. You might be suprisd :)

i spoke to my vicar who said the only way he could get around it so that i could marry in his church, which is where both my boys were christened is to go and sign the papers at the register office on the friday and her can perform a normal wedding ceremony at the church oe saturday. only difference will be is that we wont be signing the book in the church.
but i dont know if i will feel like it is still my wedding day as legally we would already be married.
anyone any opinions on this
