Withdrawing a statement
I have made an statement to the police regarding physical abuse that i received from my girlfriend. this statement was received and it is now waiting to go to court.
In the mean time my now ex girfriend also took on board an solicitor and contacted the police, but did not make a statement.
I am in a situation where i am dealing with my divorce 4 years ago, dealing with a depression and seeing 2 psycologists to help me deal with this all.
Also, the house we both own has to go on the market because we have spilt up, although we still live in the same house but seperate rooms.
I am now in a situation that i cannot go through with the emotional stress and time frame of having go to go court aswell, so i am thinking of withdrawing the statement.
What are my changes and what can be the consequences if i do withdraw this statement due to health reasons ?
I am also going on holidays overseas to see my parenst who are not well and that will only add to this level of stress.
Can you give me some advise.
Thanks in advance
