Would you help?
11 Answers
Another one of these 'would you stop to help someone in distress' type questions which i'm sure are not uncommon on here, however this is to do with age.
Walking home from work tonight there was a girl weaving in and out of the cars on a main road and headed for the motorway. She was not very well and me and one driver stopped and called an ambulance.
What got me is all the people that didn't help. I am in my early twenties and so was the other man who helped. A lot of middle aged and well of people live in the area but it was us who helped her - so do you think there is a group of people who are more likely to help in such a situation or less likely to?
What makes some people stop and others not?
Any thoughts?

One day a person was walking along the bank of a stream. He saw a man who was trying to get something small out of the flowing water using his hand. Moving close he saw that it was a scorpion and when ever that man tried to lift it out of the water scorpion stung him, Obviously making him drop it into the water again. He tried again. In the end that passer by man said, "I have been watching, This scorpion has stung you again and again but you are still trying to save him it. Just let it drown". The other man replied, "It is a bad instinct of a scorpion to sting and he is not willing to give it up, why should I give up my good instinct of helping someone.
Objective is that now a days people want to stay clear because they just do not want to get involved into any trouble. But I believe that no one should give up their good nature only because few bad people might have discouraged them, because majority still encourage a good deed.

Sorry not trying to change the subject. But my little girl does not like spiders either. Surely she is not the only one. I bought this thingy. And it did the trick. ....................Don't worry there is no commission for me.

Its such a shame though, she was only a young girl, if that was my sister or my frend I would be outraged that all those cars didn't stop!
I have the spider thingy and it seems to work on big spiders but not the spindly ones. I have some conkers in the shell around the house, there is something about them spiders do not like - and its a good time of year to collect them!
