Be sure it is the timer though before buying one.

they are normally pretty reliable, I never replaced a single timer during my time as a washing machine engineer, it was always one of the ancillary components either not working when the timer told it to or not sending the correct signal back to the timer telling it to move on through the program.

I'd agree with that CF - more usually the water level sensors or flow controllers.

Thanks for your answers. The guy came and changed what looked like a mother board in a computer. 15 mins and he was away.
Teka is a Spanish make, seemingly they sponsored Villa Real at one time.
