Speed dating - yes or no?

Am thinking about going speed dating- can anyone who has been give me the plus and minus points?

The plus points - you get to meet a lot of people in a short space of time. Can be a laugh, you could meet the partner of your dreams or make some new friends. Builds your communication skills.

The minus points - I found it very tiring and everyone asks the same questions - where do you live, what do you do and have you done speed dating before. Can get a bit tedious by the end of the night! My voice hurt too. Not sure which company you're doing this with, but the one I used, shows how many ticks you get which can lower your self-esteem if you don't get many ticks.

My advice is don't take it too seriously and maybe have an alcoholic drink but don't get drunk. I did it stone sober which probably didn't help but I was driving! When you've done it once, I doubt you'd feel nervous doing it again. If you really hate it, remind yourself you can leave so just do what you feel comfortable with. Enjoy xx

Plus points: you get to meet nice girls
Minus points: you don't get to do as many drugs as the name suggests. Mostly just white wine. Chardonnay in fact.

It's basically a couple of hours of repeating yourself... my throat really hurt by the end of it & I was bored of having the same convorsation over & over!

If I met the man of my dreams I guess I'd be raving about it, but personally I didn't meet anyone I wanted to see again.

The company I did it through (Speed Dater I think...?) doesn't display your ticks at the end of the evening, it's done on the internet the next day, so you don't have to worry about that!

I'd say it's defo worth a go though... go with a mate & make it a fun night out :-)
