Archie's castle on the popular children's TV programme, Balamory, was not filmed on the Scottish island of Tobermory as the rest. It was filmed on location at Fenton Tower, North Berwick. Does anyone know if the tower was actually painted pink? It does not look as though cgi has been used, but the actual tower does not appear to have been painted either...?

These days it would be cheaper to tint the tower digitally.
